Vanguard's new Scarlet Oak is part of their newest log line, and brings a remarkable new technology to the field of vent-free gas fireplace logs. To duplicate the look of a real wood fire, the Scarlet Oak includes a glowing, flickering coal bed at its base. This appearance of glowing coals is achieved through the use of Ceremat, which is a material visually and technically far superior to rock wool. (Rock wool is a lesser quality glow material, and looks like brown fiberglass insulation when it isn't lit.) Not only does the Scarlet Oak possess this unique technology for its glowing coals, it also boasts a triple burner for greater fire and light: two burners of bright yellow flame, plus the front burner for the glowing ember bed.

Featuring The Vanguard Auto-Light Easy Ignition System   Vanguard brings to its gas log heaters the ultimate in convenient ignition. The "Auto-Light" Easy Ignition System is simply a battery-powered continuous spark system that lights the log's burner faster and easier. One push of the button is all it takes. (You see this feature on many higher-end gas barbecue grills nowadays.) The single AAA battery is easily accessed from the front left side of the log set.
